Tattvartha Sutra

/TUT-vaar-thuh SOO-truh/

The one text both main traditions accept.

Written by Umasvati (roughly the 2nd–5th century CE), it compresses Jain philosophy into about 350 concise aphorisms covering the soul, karma, the universe and the path.
